Ten years ago, we gave an account of the situation of nontraditional students in Austrian higher education (Pechar/Wroblewski 2000). We mainly focused on part-time students, because this was by far the largest group.
In this paper we will follow-up on this considerations and discuss the impact of the recent changes in higher education policy on the conditions of nontraditional students, in particular working part time students. We will also discuss to what extent the awareness of universities for lifelong learning has increased.
