abstract: this paper aims at the estimation of factor demand equations for the austrian economy during the years 1964 to 1982 under the assumption of a cobb-douglas production function with constant returns to scale. the corresponding theory is outlined. the equations are estimated jointly and the results of these estimations are presented. the two closing sections are devoted to a thourough analysis of these results and their consequences. as the results do not conform with the underlying theory, this analysis focuses on the possible flaws in the approach.;
