Abstimmung zwischen Bildungswesen und Arbeitsmarkt in Österreich seit 1945

The study is mainly based on an analysis of the political discourses about education and employment (parliamentary debates, various periodicals from social partners, etc.) on the one hand, and medium term analyses of quantitative data about education (pupils, students, finance timeseries) and the labour market. The main theme is how the political actors understand the co-ordination between educaton and labour market, and of educational planning in these co-ordination processes.

„Insgesamt kann schon einleitend festgestellt werden, daß es sichbei der Abstimmungsproblematik nicht in der Hauptsache und ein ‚technisches‘ Problem handelt, das durch die Herausbildung eines entsprechenden Steuerungsinstrumentariums gelöst werden könnte, sondern um ein umfassendes soziales, politisches und nicht zuletzt pädagogisches Problem, das die Grundlagen der Gesellschaftsverfassung der marktwirtschaftlichen Industriegesellschaft berührt.“(Introduction, p.2)
