Abstract
abstract: an important feature of marketing research is the optimum evaluation of data. sophisticated methods cannot be applied without the help of computers. since ibm's decision to unbundle software and hardware the number of software packages hassteadily increased. therefore we give a short survey of the market of application software and analyse some packages which specialize in the evaluation of market research data. most of the criteria lists published to compare packaged software are very general. the catalogue presented in this paper concentrates on methods of data evaluation (frequencies, tests, correlations, regressions, variance analysis, factor analysis, discriminent analysis and cluster analysis) as well as on data handling and output production . we also mention time series analysis and item tests. the tabular summary is followed by a short description of the methods and a 16-page catalogue of detailed criteria.;
